"A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet" -Shakespeare
E*kimo is not the correct name for us. Inuit, as a general name, rises to the top but, it still leaves out a lot.
There are also Yupiit and Cupiit, Kalaallit and Chukchi. Inuit is actually Inuich in some areas, too. There are dialects that use the n instead of the n. There are differences when the ' (apostrophe) is used.
Also, in many ways, specifically through our language, we are connected to the Unangax and the Sugpiat, too.
We cannot all go by one specific name. Yet, we are all connected through our language and our environment. We are the Arctic Coast Indigenous Peoples.
